All texts sent to the Text-Groups number are charged at your network provider's standard text rate.
Text "new" and the name of your group to the Text-Groups number.
Example: if your new group is called "swimmers", text "new swimmers"
Within a few seconds, you will receive a text confirming your group has been created.
Someone can join your group by texting "join" and the name of your group to the Text-Groups number.
Example: to join group "swimmers" text "join swimmers"
They will receive a confirmation text which also explains how they can leave your group. One text credit will be subtracted from your account.
When someone wants to leave your group, they text "leave" and the name of your group to the Text-Groups number.
Example: to leave group "swimmers" text "leave swimmers"
Someone can leave all their groups by texting "leave all".
They will receive a confirmation message by return. One credit will be subtracted from your account.
Text "send" and the name of your group followed by your message to the Text-Groups number.
Example: to send a text to group "swimmers" you would text "send swimmers The Friday training session is cancelled"
Your message content (the part after "send swimmers") is restricted to 130 characters.
You will receive a confirmation message. One credit will be subtracted from your account for each group member the text is sent to. All the texts are sent from our website so you won't use up any of your mobile phone's text allowance apart from the one message you send to the Text-Groups number.
Text "balance" to the Text-Groups number.
A few seconds later you will receive the information by text.
Text "delete" and the name of your group to the Text-Groups number.
Example: if your group is called "swimmers", text "delete swimmers"
Within a few seconds you will receive a message confirming your group has been deleted. It is not possible to retrieve a deleted group.
Only the group owner can send texts to one of your groups. You can allow texts to be sent from other mobile phones too.
Text "allow" and the name of your group followed by the phone number (with no spaces) of the mobile phone you want to allow to send texts to your group.
Example: to allow mobile number 07786123456 to send texts to group "swimmers" text "allow swimmers 07786123456"
You will receive a confirmation message.
Only the group owner can send texts to a new group. If you have allowed others to send texts to your group, you can remove their ability to do so whenever you want.
Text "prevent" and the name of your group followed by the mobile phone number (with no spaces) of the phone you want to prevent from sending texts to your group.
Example: to prevent 07786123456 from sending texts to group "swimmers" text "prevent swimmers 07786123456"
To prevent everyone apart from you (the group owner) from sending texts to group "swimmers" text "prevent swimmers all".
You will receive a confirmation message.
To cancel your account, please contact us. We will need to know your mobile phone number and your pin number.
Text "pin" to the Text-Groups number.
You will receive a new pin number by text.
For example, if you go on holiday you may want to stop all group texts until you return.
Text "off" to the Text-Groups number.
Note that system messages from Text-Groups will still be sent.
When you wish to start receiving group texts again, text "on" to the Text-Groups number.
